United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) - Aims to control global warming by reducing green house gas emissions. As per UNFCCC developed nations are mandated to reduce their carbon foot print significantly in a phased manner and also required to fund the cost of transition of poor nations to technologies that have less impact on global warming. The carbon emission savings of individual industrialized nations are measured in percentage reduction. As a part of this design the carbon emission savings of poor nations achieved with the help of a individual industrialized nation can be accounted in the percentage reduction of that nation.
