How to test your application connectivity with a MySQL database in a remote server

That’s a pretty long blog title. Anyway that’s a beacon for those of you tired of testing your client application with MySQL database running locally in localhost:3306. I played all sort of querying and updating tricks between my local database and the application that I developed. But still felt incomplete without connecting my application to a MySQL server running remotely. I searched the web for such a service and found out that it is possible through Amazon Web Services . You need to create an account with a one year free tier plan for that. But further steps sounded too complicated. Somehow in my Java journey I found out an easiest way to do it. Let me introduce you the Cloudbees.com . But one limitation is that your database size should not exceed 5MB. Go to http://www.cloudbees.com/ and signup for a free account. You will be asked to provide custom domain name, which will be used to Sign in to your new Cloudbees account. In Home page click on Services tab. You will be sho

The reason why Indian Rupee value tumbled against US Dollar

There were chain of events that lead to the fall of Rupee’s value against US Dollar. Let me list out the events in a sequence. Though I’m not a financial expert I have penned down what I’ve learnt from this crisis. Financial crisis erupts in various nations like Greece, Italy, Spain, Ireland in European Union as a result the stability of European Union came in to question. Financial crisis in Greece worsens even after several bailout package provided by other members of EU (mainly contributed by France and Germany). Bailout package is like a loan granted to the country, which the country has to repay once their economy is stabilized. In the past its been said that International Monetary Fund (IMF) provided similar loans to small countries in Africa and Asia and in case if the country is not able to repay the fund, the IMF gets the right to take natural resources of the country so as to nullify the debt. Some economists have argued that the IMF even though was aware that the poor

My LASIK Surgery experience with Vasan Eye Care

I work in Chennai and I thought of having an eye checkup in my hometown Kanchi. I have High Myopia with right eye : –4.75 and left eye : –8.0 . I wanted to know the feasibility of having Laser Treatment. I approached the Vasan Eye Care branch in Kanchipuram in April 2012. The hospital was well furnished and its a newly opened branch in Kanchipuram. The doctors and other medical staffs were caring as they portray in the advertisements. I had couple of tests performed on my eyes and then the ophthalmologist referred me to Saidapet branch of Vasan eye care, where they have other sophisticated devices to do further tests it seems. Everything was fine and the tests gave a go ahead for my LASIK surgery. Even the doctors in saidapet branch were caring, except for the bitter experience we had with the manager of the Saidapet branch. Initially we were informed in Kanchi that we can pay all medical fees including surgery fees at Kanchi branch itself and they will fix appointments in Saidapet.
